Some of you may have noticed that we have started regulating the traffic again at CT junction. We have received the DCP's approval, which means that the Traffic Police will be (and is ) helping us out actively.
From the second week of September, I will get together with some people from other companies who have expressed an interest in doing something for the society and we may end up working on initiatives that are slightly bigger than this one. As always, if you're interested, please send me an email at sikhoya [ at] gmail [.] com .
The Police has expressed an interest in involving the IT companies in more campaigns and initiatives. We hope that we are able to help the Police (not just Traffic Police) in any which way that we can.

Hi,
I found your website by chance and am very very impressed by the initiative that you and your like-minded friends have taken. I wish you success in your endeavour.
In Europe, this would be the norm. The centre lane might stretch a mile with cars, and there might be just 2 cars in the left lane, but nobody from the right lane would go over to the left lane unless they were intending to actually turn left. I hope good traffic manners come to Hyderabad.... eventually.
If not in the next 10 years, the next 50 years :).
If you have the traffic police's support, as you seem to, one good idea would be to paint LARGE arrows on the road itself, starting several metres before the intersection. The arrow in the left lane would be a bent arrow pointing to the left - it would indicate to the drivers that the lane is for traffic intending to turn left. The central/right lanes would have arrows pointing straight ahead. (These aren't my ideas, but such arrows are found on *every* road where I live and they help drivers stay in the right lanes and keep traffic orderly.)
Good luck with your efforts.
In india, the arrows doesnt matter. The only way is to put the blockades so that one cannot turn the vehicles towards right in a free left lane.. You should always remember the mindset of auto drivers.. If an auto driver cannot break a rule then nobody can break it.. We will have come up with such solutions.
